Georgia has a legal procedure to provide for widows, widowers and minor children, which is known as “Year’s Support”. It is applicable whether or not their is a Will. It is very useful in a small or medium sized estate to allow the surviving spouse to avoid certain debts of the deceased spouse.
Pat Claiborne has experience in working with a client to determine whether a Year’s Support procedure would be more advantageous for the client than the traditional probating of the Will.
